Frequently Asked Questions
(By Local Productions)
Thank you for your interest in V I P Chaperones NZ. We are excited to offer what we believe is a point of difference — qualified childcare professionals who we train for on-set protocols and etiquette and a general understanding of film and television production culture. Rather than actors or crew who accept secondary roles as chaperones, our staff have childcare as their preferred profession and their sole interest on your production.
Exactly what is it that you do?
We provide chaperones so that casting departments can focus on casting.
With Holly’s background in education and childcare management, she selects people to be on V I P Chaperones NZ books. And with Lynnette’s casting and production experience, she trains them and gets to know their strengths and interests so we can match the appropriate person with your team.
We also can provide childcare and personal assistance for international screen production professionals working in Aotearoa.
Are all your staff police vetted?
Yes.
As the chaperones are employed by V I P Chaperones NZ, we cover the cost of police vetting and ensure it is current.
What is your daily rate?
We do not set a rate.
The budget you give us determines who we are able to place on your production.
As a bonus, we provide back-up for both you and our staff.
There is an administrative fee if you change your mind after we place a call-out.
We are a placement agency, not a referral service.
Aside from V I P Chaperones NZ being qualified and experienced childcare providers, why would we choose your staff over folks we already know in the industry?
Our staff are as passionate about teaching and childcare as your ‘known quantities’ are about being on sets and networking.
And if for any reason you are not pleased, as the chaperones are our employees and your contract is with V I P Chaperones NZ, you can request a replacement without financial penalty or stress.
Can we meet your staff in advance of placement?
Of course you can.
We will bring one or more chaperones to meet at your convenience.
In this way, we understand your needs and in the event you require additional staff on short notice, we can fill that gap for you.
This also keeps us well informed so that we can support our chaperones to do a great job.
